Michael Moore Distributes Newest Doc Free Online

4 Sep, 2008 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Political filmmaker Michael Moore is offering his latest documentary, Slacker Uprising, online at no charge.

The film chronicles the 2004 presidential election, specifically George W. Bush’s re-election effort, and Moore’s unsuccessful 62-college campus tour to defeat him.

Moore, whose docs Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9/11 and SiCKO generated millions in revenue theatrically and on DVD, in addition to controversy and acclaim, said he decided to make the offer as a gift to his fans, according to distributor Brave New Films.

The film will be available Sept. 23 at www.slackeruprising.com, the same day it streets on DVD from Genius Products at $9.95.

Unlike the download, the DVD also includes bonus features “Joan Baez – America the Beautiful,” “Why People Like George Bush?,” “My Pet Goat,” “The O'Reilly Factor for Kids,” “Just Add Water and Heat — More Ramen and Clean Underwear,” among others.
