Lionsgate, Macrovision Close TV Guide Transaction

Lionsgate March 2 formally completed the acquisition of TV Guide Network and TV Guide Online properties from Macrovision Solutions, a $255 million deal announced Jan. 5.

The Santa Monica, Calif.-based mini-major expects to augment TV Guide Networks’ 83 million households with the 30 million subscribers to Fearnet, a cable partnership with Sony and Comcast.

Lionsgate will also incorporate TVGuide.com’s 16 million unique monthly visitors together with Break.com, in which it has a 42% equity stake.
