Joost Application Evolves Into Video Web Site

By Billy Gil | Posted: 18 Dec 2008

Former Web video application Joost will now serve as a video Web site, Joost.com, according to PC Magazine.

“With our new website, you're able to watch all of our videos – TV shows, music videos, and films — right in your Web browser,” Joost said, according to PC Magazine. “At this point, we have decided to discontinue our original Joost software application. As of Friday, Dec. 19, you will no longer be able to watch videos in the Joost software application — but you will be able to find all of our videos, and more, on Joost.com.”

Joost provides professional content, unlike user-generated video sites such as YouTube.com. The Web site has deals already in place with Viacom, Turner Broadcasting System, Hasbro, the National Hockey League, Sports Illustrated, Warner Bros. Television Group, CBS, Sony Pictures Television, Funimation Entertainment and National Lampoon, among others.
