HBO Home Entertainment Joins the Digital Copy Ranks

15 Dec, 2008 By: Erik Gruenwedel

The three-disc collector’s edition of Chris Rock: Kill the Messenger will include HBO Home Entertainment’s first digital copy when it is released Jan. 20.

The special features 90 minutes of footage from Rock’s international shows in New York, the United Kingdom and South Africa. Also included in the set are the full-length performances at all three locations, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.

“That will mark our first time with digital copy, and I think its potential is great,” said HBO Home Entertainment president Henry McGee.

Rock, who made his debut on “Saturday Night Live” in 1989, has won three Emmy Awards and has now done five solo stand-up performances for HBO.

McGee also said that “True Blood,” the Golden Globe-nominated series coming back for a second season, will see both DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases in the spring.
