Gravitas Inks Deal With YouTube

Gravitas Ventures, a video-on-demand distributor of independent content, will offer hundreds of independent titles to YouTube viewers. The company has inked a deal with the online video site to display its film library on a rental or ad-sponsored basis on its branded channel, GravitasVOD.

“GravitasVOD enables our filmmakers to reach a potentially huge user base who is already accustomed to viewing streaming video online or through Web-connected devices,” said Michael Murphy, SVP of Gravitas Ventures.

Featured films will include festival favorites from Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Cannes and Toronto. YouTube users can expect an estimated 500 films to be available by the end of the year.
