Funimation Entertainment is launching an anime channel on video service site Joost.
Beginning in November, Joost.com users will have free access to a number of Funimation properties, including “xxxHolic,” “Basilisk,” “Blue Gender,” “Galaxy Railways,” “MoonPhase,” “Kiddy Grade,” “Black Blood Brothers,” “Rumbling Hearts,” “Mr. Stain,” “Mushi-Shi” and “School Rumble.”
“Joost recognizes that there exists a varied entertainment landscape and a thirst for unique content,” said Gen Fukunaga, president and CEO of Funimation Entertainment. “Partnering with them offers us the opportunity to provide the content fans are already looking for, legally, while also reaching new audiences.”
Danny Passman, global head of programming for Joost, added, “Joost knows what anime fans want; they want to be able to watch their favorite shows online in their entirety, and they want an easy way to talk about their favorite moments, shows or characters with other fans. Adding the full-length, dubbed and subtitled fan-favorite shows from Funimation to Joost gets us even closer to our goal of being the online destination for premium legal anime.”
