FiOS TV Bows ‘Home Enterstayment’ Offer

4 Nov, 2008 By: Billy Gil

New customers signing up for Verizon’s FiOS TV by Dec. 31 will get 90 days of free access to three premium entertainment packages: Cinemax, HBO and FiOS TV’s Movie Package. Additionally they will have access to more than 9,000 free video-on-demand (VOD) titles per month.

The offer covers 70 premium channels, 40 of which are high-definition and include HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz, The Movie Channel, Encore, Sundance Channel and IFC.

“In today’s economy, people are staying home more and going out less,” said Shawn Strickland, VP of video solutions for Verizon. “FiOS TV already offers the ultimate ‘home enterstayment’ experience that cable can’t match, with more free HD and better picture and sound quality. Our latest promotion helps new customers … evaluate premium services before deciding to subscribe.”

New customers also can order Verizon’s Home Media DVR, which allows for viewing simultaneous programs on different TV sets as well as TV access to photos and music from personal computers, for $15.99 a month for the first 90 days. The fee would then rise to $19.99 a month.
