FiOS Adds NBA Content

23 Sep, 2009 By: Billy Gil

Verizon has signed a multiyear deal with NBA Digital so that NBA League Pass and NBA TV are added to FiOS TV’s offerings.

League Pass gives viewers up to 40 out-of-market, live NBA games every week. The service is available at early pricing of $169 now through Nov. 4; customers can receive it by calling Verizon at 888/553-1555.

NBA TV is a 24-hour digital network with NBA games, news, statistics and original programming, available in both standard- and high-definition. It will be available at no extra charge as part of FiOS TV’s Extreme HD package, which also includes ESPN HD and NFL Network HD.

“FiOS TV is the best place to watch basketball and all other sports programming,” said Terry Denson, VP of content strategy and acquisition for Verizon. “Our stunning picture-and-sound quality gives FiOS TV customers the equivalent of a courtside seat for the entire NBA season, enabling them to experience the excitement of the game from the comfort of their own home.”
