Dish Network Teams With Rentrak for Audience Measurement

Dish Network has entered into an agreement with Rentrak Corp. to report Dish Network set-top box click-stream television data.

Rentrak’s TV Essentials will deliver viewer metrics from the set-top boxes, including second-by-second television programming and advertising information as well as reporting on usage of Dish Network DVR and iTV, an interactive Dish Network service whereby users have access to such features as video games and interactive advertising.

“Advertisers are clamoring for this level of reporting to gain insights and to increase efficiencies in this age of increased accountability,” said Michael Finn, VP of advertising sales for Dish Network. “This reporting will make a significant difference for advertisers across all of our current and future initiatives, and will allow us to make more informed internal programming and marketing decisions.”
