Digital Group DLNA Group Inducts Five Promoters

16 Mar, 2010 By: Billy Gil

The Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) has five new promoter members: AT&T, Dolby Laboratories, Qualcomm, Technicolor and Verizon. They join the group’s 21 other promoter members.

The group is developing standards for DLNA-certified products to facilitate the sharing of media files across devices, agnostic of manufacturer. More than 6,800 are DLNA-certified.

“Promoter membership signifies a strong commitment to the work and mission of DLNA,” said Scott Smyers, president and chairman of the DLNA board of directors and SVP of Sony Electronics Inc. “As leaders in their respective fields, AT&T, Dolby Laboratories, Qualcomm, Technicolor and Verizon understand the importance of implementing standards-based technology to make it easier for consumers to use, share and enjoy their digital content at home, and beyond.”
