CEA, Whiskey Falls Launch YouTube DTV Contest22 Oct, 2008 By: Billy Gil
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and popular country band Whiskey Falls have launched a contest on YouTube for friends who help educate their friends and family about the transition to all digital TV transmissions, which will occur Feb. 17, 2009.
Entrants to the contest post videos to www.youtube.com/dtvtransition, no longer than three minutes long, demonstrating ways to get family and friends ready for the transition. The winner, announced Dec. 10, when the contest ends, will be awarded a flatscreen HDTV, a Blu-ray Disc player and a surround sound audio system.
For their part Whiskey Falls has created a new video, “We Are America,” explaining contest details and showing how consumers can help with the digital transition.
“We are looking forward to seeing your video, and to help everyone get ready for the DTV transition,” said Whiskey Falls lead singer Seven Williams. “Cuz we are America!”
