Amy Poehler Turns Up Online19 Nov, 2008 By: Chris Tribbey
She may be gone from “Saturday Night Live,” but Amy Poehler hasn’t dropped off the entertainment map.
The first of eight “Smart Girls at the Party” episodes has launched online on its own Web site, iTunes, Adobe Media Player and a series of other digital outlets. Created by Poehler, former Nickelodeon producer Meredith Walker, and recording artist Amy Miles, “Smart Girls” brings a young, creative girl to an interview table with Poehler, and follows the kid during her daily life.
A bonus interview is also available at www.smartgirlsattheparty.com, and a new episode will be released every week.
“Our goal was to create a show we would have loved to watch when we were young,” Walker said. “We knew we wanted to honor real girls and their originality, and we knew we wanted to have fun doing it.”
Jen Grogono, co-founder and chief content officer of ON Networks, added, “Original on-demand series like 'Smart Girls at the Party' allow us to reinvent traditional TV show formats and explore new ways to reach and engage today’s viewers.”
