Amazon.com’s CreateSpace service has added more than 20 out-of-print record labels, accounting for more than 1,000 out-of-print music titles, as part of its “Back from the Vault” program.
CreateSpace’s Disc on Demand will add titles from participating labels EMI Music, Sony Music, Warner Music Group, Epitaph, GNP Crescendo, Rounder and Shout! Factory. Titles from such artists as Art Blakey, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Shawn Colvin, Hall & Oates, Alabama, Rodney Crowell, Louis Armstrong, Wyclef Jean, Herbie Hancock, Benny Goodman and Django Reinhardt will be available on CD and MP3 at www.amazon.com/backfromthevault.
“Sony Music is pleased to make formerly out-of-print music available on CD through CreateSpace’s Disc on Demand program and via Amazon’s ‘Back from the Vault’ store,” said Harry Safter, SVP of catalog, Sony Music. “Fans of all music genres can now finally collect many previously unavailable Sony Music titles from well-known artists.”
