Voices of Forest Whitaker, Mary Matilyn Mouser.
Every 20 seasons, the World Gobbler, the most terrifying dragon, awakens and destroys the land, leaving absolutely nothing behind. But the Dragon Hunters have arrived to save the world.
Dragon Hunters is a magical tale in which a young girl named Zoe (Mary Matilyn Mouser) teams with Lian-Chu (Forest Whitaker), a sensitive hunter with the appearance of a sumo wrestler, Gwido the businessman, and smelly, bad-mannered Hector, to conquer the World Gobbler and the rest of the wacky dragons.
The home video version of this animated film contains a couple of entertaining featurettes, such as an interview with Whitaker that showcases the Oscar winner in action as he transforms into the animated Lian-Chu. He also gives a brief background on his character and his sidekick Zoe.
A character biography provides basic descriptions on the main dragon hunters, while a dragon gallery describes the goofy dragons such as the Farting Dragon, who masters the skies by using his foul gases, and the Silly Dragon, who consists of a large pumpkin head that splits into thousands of tiny bats.
The extras aren’t very interactive. But the film itself should be enough to entertain. Those who enjoyed Shrek and its sequels should gravitate toward Dragon Hunters.
