MVD, Curb Entertainment Partner for Distribution Deal

MVD Entertainment Group will distribute select titles from Curb Entertainment, the company announced May 24.

Curb, which boasts a catalogue of more than 100 feature films in diverse genres, is bowing several titles on DVD June 21, each listed at $16.95. They include Just Write, a 1997 romantic comedy starring Jeremy Piven (“Entourage”) and Sherilyn Fenn (Rude Awakening); Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, which stars Anthony Edwards (“ER”) as the unwitting object of a hypnotized woman’s affections; and Family, a thriller in which a father and son pick up a hitchhiker and quickly learn that everything isn’t what it seems.

“We are uber excited to represent Curb Entertainment,” said Chris Callahan, head of sales with MVD. “They have an extremely vast and fascinating product line, which has worldwide, mass appeal.”

Carole Curb Nemoy, president of Curb Entertainment, said the partnership with MVD presents an opportunity for future advancement.

“In 2011, reaching consumers and retailers can be challenging, but the new agreement with MVD will certainly help meet our sales goals while allowing us to focus on acquisitions and creative reach,” Curb Nemoy said. “We have an aggressive slate for the second half of 2011 ,and we look forward to teaming up with MVD on future releases.”

Burbank, Calif.-based Curb Entertainment is a member of the International Film and Television Associations and is active in the major film and television markets such as the American Film Market, Cannes Film Festival, MIPCOM, MIP-TV and The European Film Market. It also has a music division, Curb Records.
