Baker & Taylor has firmed its digital-distribution infrastructure, enlisting the services of digital technology company OverDrive.

The partnership will allow Baker & Taylor to provide customers with downloadable music and video, e-books and audio books. The services will be offered under the label Digital Media Library and will allow Baker & Taylor customers to pass on digital media services to their customers.

“We are executing on Baker & Taylor’s strategic vision to be the industry leader in the distribution of bundled physical and digital media to our customers worldwide,” said Baker & Taylor CEO Tom Morgan.

OverDrive CEO Steve Potash called the timing for the partnership “perfect.”

“The demand for digital media is exploding, and Baker & Taylor is in a prime position to give customers a bundled solution — digital content in multiple formats along with physical media,” he said.
