Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy on disc and on-demand Dec. 9, with early digital release Nov. 18.

Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper as a ragtag team of mercenaries who unite to keep a powerful orb out of the hands of an intergalactic warlord. The film also stars Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio Del Toro.

The sci-fi film has grossed more than $645 million worldwide, and in the United States it’s the top-grossing film of the year so far with $320 million. That makes it the third-highest grossing Marvel Cinematic Universe film domestically, behind only The Avengers and Iron Man 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy arrives on disc as a single-disc DVD ($29.99), a single-disc Blu-ray ($32.99) and a combo pack ($39.99) containing 3D and 2D Blu-rays and a digital copy.

All copies on disc will contain a deleted scene and an exclusive look at Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, due in theaters May 1, 2015. In addition, the Blu-ray versions will include an audio commentary, gag reel and making-of featurettes.
