Viz Media Launches 24-Hour Anime Channel

Anime distributor Viz Media has launched a 24-hour anime channel, with the intent to distribute it via game consoles, the company announced.

Neon Alley is expected to debut in North America this fall and will have a subscription launch price of $6.99 a month. Fans can register at NeonAlley.com for news and updates prior to the launch.

“We created Neon Alley for fans to watch the best anime titles in the world right on their TV,” said Ken Sasaki, Viz Media president and CEO. “Neon Alley will have weekly exclusive premieres of the hit titles they love, along with a mix of new, cutting-edge titles they didn't know they were missing.”

Initial programming will include “Inuyasha: The Final Act,” “Death Note,” “Naruto Shippuden,” “Tiger & Bunny,” “Berserk: The Golden Age Arc,” “Zetman” and “Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan.”

The service will include limited commercial advertising.
