Starz Names Ray Milius EVP of Programming and IT8 Feb, 2013 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Starz Entertainment Feb. 8 said it has promoted broadcast veteran Ray Milius to EVP of programming and IT operations at the Englewood, Colo.-based multichannel program distributor’s headquarters.
Milius, who has been with Starz since 1996, is responsible for the management of broadcast operations, post-production, engineering, transmission, media encoding and information technologies, and the respective Starz, Encore, and Movieplex On Demand and Play services. He will also be charged with implementing technological growth and change.
Starz, which repurposes third-party and original content to cable, satellite and telecommunications operators, has expanded digital distribution channels (including TV Everywhere) in premium pay-TV to compete against burgeoning subscription video-on-demand services.
Ironically, Starz helped Netflix launch the SVOD market via a four-year content license agreement that ended last February.http://www.homemediamagazine.com/node/29589/edit
