DTS Donates Audio Enhancements to Troops

30 Oct, 2012 By: Chris Tribbey

Giving back to American troops serving overseas, audio technology company DTS has chipped in more than 18,000 iWow 3D audio enhancement adaptors to the nonprofit Support Our Troops.

The adaptors, which work with any iPad, iPhone or iPod, will be distributed to troops serving worldwide. The iWow 3D picks up audio cues buried in the original source material and brings out “renewed depth and clarity, as well as deep bass” with any set of earbuds. At a retail list price of $69.99 a pop, the total donation comes out to more than $1.26 million.

“We are very proud of the brave men and women serving our country and are delighted to show our appreciation by giving back to them,” said DTS CEO Jon Kirchner. “Many of DTS’ employees, their family members and friends are active or have served in the military and, thus, the company in its entirety has a fond respect for our nation’s troops. We hope that the high-quality audio experience that the iWow 3D delivers brings joy to those serving and makes the music, movies and mobile games that they enjoy during their downtime more entertaining.”
