EMA Adds Gaming to Digital Media Pipeline Conference

The Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA) will add discussions on digital video game distribution and retailing to its 2013 Digital Media Pipeline conference, held Sept. 24 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

The one-day event will bring together experts in the digital entertainment industry, including retailers, distributors, content aggregators, service providers and more.

“This will be the fifth year that EMA has presented Digital Media Pipeline, and the event has grown along with the digital delivery sector,” said EMA president and CEO Mark Fisher. “We are pleased that it has become a vital forum for this dynamic business. And given the increasing importance of the digital delivery channel to the video game market, it makes sense to include discussion of digital video games in the conference.”

Mitch Mallon, SVP of digital sales for RLJ Entertainment and chairman of the steering committee for Digital Media Pipeline, added: “The conference is designed to allow leaders in the digital entertainment community to come together in a format that facilitates information sharing, industry collaboration and business relationship development. Each year we develop the program to focus on the key industry developments and emerging trends.”

The EMA will use the conference to present its annual DIGI awards as well.
