Entertainment AIDS Alliance Hosts 8th Annual Wine & Wisdom

24 May, 2010 By: Alexandra Hammarth

The Entertainment AIDS Alliance (EAA) will host its 8th annual Wine & Wisdom fundraiser June 22 at the Skirball Cultural Center.

The event will support Elizabeth Taylor’s Endowment Fund benefiting the UCLA AIDS Institute’s CARE Center. For the first time it will also benefit the only comprehensive HIV agency serving Los Angeles’ Westside community, known as Common Ground.

Wine & Wisdom will offer wine, hors d’ouvres and a live musical performance by the Lori Jenaire Jazz Quartet. There also will be live and silent auctions accompanied by a raffle. The event will be held 6:30-9:30p.m. at the Skirball, which is located at 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd. in Los Angeles.

EAA’s wine tasting event has raised and donated more than $250,000, and due to its growing success, this year the EAA has added Common Ground as an additional beneficiary. Common Ground offers no-cost education with their HIV prevention and treatment programs. Based in Santa Monica, it is the only comprehensive HIV agency serving the Westside (from LAX to the Ventura County line). The event also will benefit the UCLA Clinical AIDS Research and Education Center (CARE), which provides treatment to those with AIDS while at the same time conducts research to find a cure.

Admission to the event is $35, which includes a gift bag. Another option is the VIP gift bag (over a $400 value) with an additional donation of $100. Because the 2009 event sold out, advance purchasing is recommended for guaranteed admittance. To order tickets, go to http://www.entertainmentAIDSalliance.org.
