Eisner to Keynote ‘Variety’ Summit

Entertainment industry veteran Michael Eisner will headline as a keynoter at Variety’s Entertainment and Technology Summit Oct. 18 at the Loews Santa Monica Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif.
Eisner has four decades as an industry leader, first at ABC, then becoming president of Paramount Pictures during the time it released such films as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Saturday Night Fever and Grease. Eisner became chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Co. in 1984, helping drive the company for 21 years. He founded private investment/acquisition entertainment company The Tornante Co. in 2005, acquiring sports card and confection company The Topps Co. in 2007 and creating Internet media production company Vuguru (which will be spun off from Tornate).
The Variety Entertainment and Technology Summit is co-located with the Digital Hollywood conference and will cover production of entertainment across multiple media devices, for both Hollywood and its technology partners. Also speaking at the summit will be Mitch Singer, chief technology officer for Sony Pictures Entertainment and president of the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem; Chris Homeister, SVP/GM of the Entertainment Business Group at Best Buy; Matt Jacobson, head of market development at Facebook; Matt Diamond, CEO of Alloy Media + Marketing; Doug Neil, SVP digital marketing at Universal Pictures; and Hardie Tankersley, VP of innovation at Fox Broadcasting.
