CEDIA Draws 20,700

26 Sep, 2010 By: Chris Tribbey

The 2010 CEDIA Expo in Atlanta drew more than 20,700 attendees, and 453 exhibitors, a 6% increase over 2009, the trade group said Sept. 26.

Ninety exhibitors were making their first appearance, and CEDIA organizers said nearly 20% of the attendees were at CEDIA for the first time.

“The show was unbelievable. The dealers were all positive,” said Michael Lakhter, VP of sales for video company Key Digital. “The dealers now have a long pipeline of projects, and they’re excited about our products as a solution. We’ve hired five people to keep up with demand.”

CEDIA CEO Utz Baldwin said the show represented a “resurgence” for the custom installer home entertainment industry.

“The product knowledge and education that attendees take away from CEDIA Expo 2010 will help them take advantage of emerging opportunities and will position their businesses for continued success,” he said.

The trade show will move to Indianapolis in 2011, running Sept. 7–11.
