Fans of “Futurama” and “Dollhouse” can pick up special boxed sets for their favorite shows at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con International. A complete-series “Futurama” set and a limited-edition first season set of “Dollhouse” will be offered by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Those interested in the sets can preorder copies through July 20 at FoxStore.com. The “Futurama” set is available at FoxStore.com/FuturamaComicCon.

The 19-DVD Futurama: The Complete Collection includes all four volumes of the series, plus the four direct-to-video movies that followed, for $199.98. The set will be individually numbered and comes in a Bender head box. Preorders begin July 8, and those who preorder the set will receive a collectible poster.

Sets can be picked up at the Fox Booth at Comic-Con, but sets will not be available for purchase on site. The collection will hit general retail in October, according to Fox.

The limited-edition Dollhouse: Season One comes in blue-embossed packaging with a letter from Joss Whedon. The sets are individually numbered with a run of 5,000, half on DVD (four-disc set $49.98) and half on Blu-ray (three-disc set $69.99). Preorders begin July 6. A limited number of copies will be available onsite for purchase. The retail version of Dollhouse: Season One streets July 28, the week after Comic-Con.

The sets can be picked up at the Fox Booth (#1429). Photo ID is required for pickups of preorders, or buyers can designate a proxy during checkout.

The foxstore site the you order the Dollhouse DVD/Blu-Ray from is not secure! It doesn’t use SSL (https) and there is no way to order via phone or Fax. Any credit card information you send is completely in the clear and wide open for interception. Tech support seems to be unconcerned. You may want to avoid until/if they come to their senses and implement this most basic security feature.
