Most societies rely on a select cadre of people who crawl into the deep dark holes to do the jobs no one else is willing to do.
Meet Kenny (Shane Jacobson), the Crocodile Dundee of poo. He’s a glorified plumber from Australia whose main job is to set up and maintain portable toilets for large gatherings. This mockumentary follows him as he deals with various problems involving toilets and spouts keen and often hilarious observations about the nature of scat, human or otherwise.
He does it all while dealing with a personal life that seems ready to spin out of control. One of the bittersweet aspects of the film is how no one in his family seems proud of anything he does. For example, Kenny cuts short a trip to Nashville, Tenn., when his father ends up in the hospital, only to suffer the old man’s stream of ridicules.
The film won a slew of festival awards around Australia and deserves to find an equally enthusiastic audience in America.
