Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Asia has struck a deal with China’s Sohu Video to bring more than 200 hours of Mandarin-dubbed and subtitled Nickelodeon programming to tv.sohu.com during 2014.
The agreement will open up online access to “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “Avatar” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” to more than 389 million consumers, Viacom said in a statement.
“We have been focused on developing our brands’ presence in China and expanding business relationships with partners that allow consumers to access VIMN’s entertainment across a multi-platform environment,” said Indra Suharjono, EVP and managing director of VIMN Asia. “We hope to continue to expand our entertainment content access to Sohu.com online video users.”
Charles Zhang, chairman and CEO of Sohu.com, added: “Nickelodeon’s content has strong appeal and relevance with the Chinese audience. I hope that our collaboration will allow us to bring more exciting international children’s programming to our online users.”
