Streaming site TV.com June 17 said it had signed a deal with TiVo that allows the digital video recording pioneer’s subscribers to find and schedule TV shows to record on their TiVo DVR directly through TV.com.

TV.com users click the "Record to TiVo" button on the site’s show pages, and the request will be sent directly to their DVR.

TV.com, which is owned by CBS Corp., and rival Hulu.com — co-owned by News Corp., NBC Universal and The Walt Disney Co. — spearhead a burgeoning market for repurposed TV programming on the Internet.

The pact is unique considering both companies essentially vie for the same consumer seeking to time-shift TV programming.

For the month of April, TV.com hit an all-time high in unique views and posted its fourth consecutive month for record highs in streams and minutes spent on the site, according Nielsen Video Census.
