Time Warner Cable Expands Vutopia Streaming Service to the PC, Mac

Time Warner Cable May 16 said it has expanded access to its Vutopia movie streaming service beyond the television to include laptop computers.

Launched in 2010, Vutopia is a free add-on service to the No. 2 cable operator’s Movie Pass subscribers. MoviePass features both linear and on-demand content, including more than 500 hours of film from almost every genre. Other content options in MoviePass include the Starz Encore channels, Fox Movie Channel, Disney Family Movies and Lionsgate’s FearNet.

Subscribers must use their Time Warner Cable username and password to gain access to the content via www.vutopia.com.

Vutopia movies include Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; 28 Days; Bugsy; Charlie’s Angels; Philadelphia; Donnie Brasco; and All the Pretty Horses, among others. Movies from the IFC library include Touching the Void, Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work and The Trip, plus the critically acclaimed “Carlos” miniseries. Foreign film highlights include Y Tu Mama Tambien, Hunger and Housemaid.
