AT&T and Starz Entertainment Feb. 13 said they extended a multiplatform affiliate agreement for the telecommunication’s U-verse fiber-optic pay-TV network.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
AT&T U-verse’s 3.8 million subscribers (as of Q3 2011) currently have access to 19 Starz Entertainment premium channels and feeds, all 14 distinct Starz and Encore channels (including Encore Español), West Coast feeds of the flagship Starz and Encore channels, plus Indieplex, Retroplex and the recently launched Movieplex.
The agreement also extends AT&T U-verse’s offering of the Starz Online, Encore Online and Movieplex Online authenticated online advanced services for AT&T subscribers to enjoy great premium movie and original content on PCs, Macs, tablets and portable devices via U-verse TV, U-verse Online, U-verse Tablet and U-verse Mobile.

“Starz provides some of the highest-quality movie content on television, and AT&T is pleased to have reached an agreement to continue to offer their services to our subscribers across platforms,” said Dan York, president of content with AT&T. “Our agreement with Starz helps us with important strategic content initiatives, and continues to give us more flexibility in the products and services we bring to our customers.”

Starz recently signed a content license agreement with Lionsgate, a deal that includes more than 500 movies from the minimajor’s catalog.
