What’s the deal with porn stars spreading their acting legs doing horror movies?

Erstwhile adult legend Jenna Jameson did a memorable turn pole dancing (and gnawing) in Zombie Strippers, while predecessor Traci Lords starred in alien vampire film Not of This Earth before moving on to John Waters films.

Now Alexis Texas (her booty is appropriately sized) makes the transition in ultra low-budget Bloodlust Zombies, yet another take on the popular horror sub-genre involving the brainless undead.

Texas plays a receptionist whose duties apparently are limited to wearing blouses unbuttoned too far and fooling around with the loony (and harmless) boss of a military weapons manufacturer specializing in chemical agents.

Problems, of course, occur when a secret serum designed to turn enemy combatants (read: Middle East insurgents) on each other — and greenlighted by a vindictive company VP (her military husband was killed in Afghanistan) — accidently spills in the lab, transforming anyone who comes into contact with it into flesh-eating zombies.

With a company-wide lockdown in effect following the spill, staffers are left to fend (unsuccessfully) for themselves. A happy ending doesn’t appear likely, but then Ms. Texas — it turns out — is much more than an objectified coffee girl.

Zombies offers a few memorable scenes. One notable arc involves writer-director Dan Lantz playing a dimwitted security guard more interested in doing nothing than tracking down flesh-eating mutants.

Lantz’s interaction with a foul-mouthed, gun-toting female intern provides a few laughs.
