New Jersey based digital home entertainment specialist S1Digital has introduced the S1Digital Blu-ray Disc Changer ($1,499), which can hold 100 discs and seamlessly integrates with any S1Digiral entertainment server or media center.
When connected to a S1Digital media center or any third-party Microsoft Windows 7 or Vista PC that includes media center, consumers can load up to 100 Blu-ray or DVD movies into the changer. The included playback software will scan each disc and download metadata and cover art to the server. Once the information is catalogued, users can view more information about the movie or watch a film by selecting the appropriate cover art. The changer enables almost instant access to movies without having to physically find and load each disc, according to the company.
When connected to an entertainment server, the changer can archive non-copy protected discs by storing the content on a hard drive, making it available to a home network for playback.
