Online Retailers Sell Blu-ray Players From $5024 May, 2010 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Pre-summer house cleaning among online consumer electronics retailers got serious May 24 when Sears.com (via Kmart) began selling through June 12 factory-refurbished Magnavox NB500 (Profile 1.1) Blu-ray Disc players for $49.99 after deducting applicable additional savings.
This is the lowest advertised price nationally for a refurbished Blu-ray player — the same non-Internet enabled model Walmart sells new for $78.
Woot.com is offering factory-refurbished Magnavox Blu-ray players for $59.99.
Sears also offers the Element Electronics EDBCO11 BD player (store models) for $55.77.
Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart sells new models of the Sylvania RNB500 for $98 and Philips BDP3020 player with BD Live (Internet access) for $97.
BestBuy.com is selling four separate brands of Blu-ray players priced from $74.99, including the Sylvania RNB500, Magnavox NB500 ($79.99), Panasonic BD605 ($89.99) and Toshiba BDX2000 for $89.99.
Not to be outdone, Amazon is selling assorted refurbished BD players from Sony, Sharp, Samsung, Vizio and Pioneer below $100.
