ITV Gives Beyond Home Entertainment Blu-ray Content for Australia, New Zealand5 Nov, 2009 By: Billy Gil
ITV Studios Home Entertainment, which claims the biggest English-language film library in the United Kingdom, has licensed its films to Beyond Home Entertainment to release them on Blu-ray Disc in Australia and New Zealand.
Films licensed to Beyond include The Boys From Brazil, starring Gregory Peck and Laurence Olivier; The Eagle Has Landed, starring Robert Duvall and Donald Sutherland; astronaut drama Capricorn One; Escape to Athena, with Roger Moore; The Ipcress File, starring Michael Caine; David Lean’s romantic film Brief Encounter; and Bugsy Malone, with a young Jodie Foster. The films will be available by Christmas.
“Our film restoration project preserves our critically acclaimed and hugely popular library of landmark British film titles for a new generation of film lovers,” said Brad Blain, head of home entertainment, international home entertainment, sales and programming at ITV Studios Home Entertainment. “We are very pleased to announce these new home entertainment deals as further testament to our ongoing commitment to the future potential of these titles”
