Harman Kardon Bows High-End Blu-ray Player

Boutique audio and video manufacturer Harman Kardon has unveiled its first Blu-ray Disc player, the BDP 10, for the European market.

Considered the Herman Miller in consumer electronics, Harman Kardon specializes in high-end home theater systems, including receivers, speakers, tuners and digital media centers.

The Profile 2.0 BDP 10 reportedly retails for more than $900 and features Bonus View (picture-in-picture), BD-Live (Internet connectivity), advanced audio codec support and 1080p resolution playback, in addition to front-panel USB ports for DivX and JPEG display.

The unit also includes Ethernet, HDMI 1.3a, coaxial and optical audio outputs, in addition to analog audio outputs.

The player is expected to be available later this year in the United States.
