Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

The “one that started it all” will also be the one that starts a new brand for Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment when Oct. 6 Disney pulls Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs out of the vault and puts it on a two-disc Blu-ray combo set, with a DVD included (SRP $39.99, prebook Aug. 11).

The release will also mark the first in Disney’s new Diamond Collection lineup. A DVD-only release will follow the Blu-ray Nov. 24.

Exclusive features on the Blu-ray release include a “Hyperion Studios” tour, taking viewers back to the 1930s studio where Snow White was developed, with animator recordings, archival photos, footage of Walt Disney and more. A “Magic Mirror” feature serves as the host of the Blu-ray, guiding viewers around the movie and features, even offering suggestions to viewers based on their habits.

“Disney View,” the colorful in-movie border feature Disney debuted with Pinocchio, returns, with artist Toby Bluth also sharing how the movie inspired him in a separate featurette. “Mirror, Mirror On The Wall” uses BD Live to give little princesses at home an interactive surprise, “Scene Stealer” allows users to upload photos and be inserted into the movie as a dwarf, and two games, “Jewel Jumble” and “What Do You See?” also are included.
