Blu-ray Production to Start in South America

Brazil’s Microservice Tecnologia Digital will be the first disc manufacturer in South America to roll Blu-ray Discs off its production lines, the company said Aug. 13.

“We are very proud that after being the first company in South America producing optical disc back in 1987, we will now be the first company in South America manufacturing Blu-ray Discs,” said Microservice CEO Isaac Hemsi, adding that the company will do both BD 25s and BD 50s. “As our goal is always to provide our customers with the best quality discs, we have chosen to buy the well-established Singulus Bluline II for Blu-ray Disc production to bring this plan into action.”

Singulus’s Bluline II meets all specifications for Blu-ray production set by the Blu-ray Disc Association, Singulus said.
