300: The Complete Experience

Warner Home Video is re-releasing its 2007 hit 300 on Blu-ray Disc July 21 (prebook June 16) at $39.99.

The new edition of the film, which is an adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic novel chronicling an ancient Greek military victory over Persian invaders, will include more than two hours of extras, including a “Comprehensive Immersion” mode — an interactive picture-in-picture experience with three unique perspectives to explore during the film.

The film’s original release on Blu-ray proved rather Spartan as the format’s technical innovations such as picture-in-picture weren’t perfected yet. A picture-in-picture mode previously was available on the film’s HD DVD release.

Upon the initial release of the film two years ago, director Zack Snyder cited the difference in functionality between the HD DVD and Blu-ray versions as a potential reason for a new Blu-ray version once the format’s interactive functionality had been perfected.

300: The Complete Experience also includes a 40-page booklet and a digital copy, plus access to BD Live.

Snyder’s latest film, Watchmen, also hits home video July 21.
