NCR Corp., owner and operator of Blockbuster Express rental kiosks, among other vending services, Feb. 3 reported fourth-quarter (ended Dec. 31) net income of $39 million, compared with a loss of $56 million during the prior-year period.
Duluth, Ga.-based NCR said revenue in its Americas segment, which includes more than 8,000 Blockbuster Express units, posted a 12% increase in revenue to $609 million from $544 million last year.
For the fiscal year, NCR reported income of $134 million, compared with a loss of $33 million in 2009. The company said it spent about $53 million in 2010 installing Express kiosks, driving capital expenses up 30% to $226 million.
Revenue for the year increased 9% to $2.4 billion, from $2.2 billion in 2009.
