29 Jun, 2011 By: Chris Tribbey

The Entertainment Merchants Association, or EMA, honored four independent releases June 29 during the Independent Product Market event.

Sellthrough Title of the Year went to Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, while Rental Title of the Year was The Way Back from Image Entertainment. Top Direct-to-video/Limited Release Title of the Year was The Human Centipede by MPI Media Group, while Virgil Film’s Restrepo was awarded the Documentary/Special Interest Title of the Year.

“With the popularity of connected devices and a multitude of platforms, providing consumers with a variety of viewing experiences, the demand for quality movies and TV shows has steadily increased,” said EMA president and CEO Bo Andersen. “EMA is pleased to present these awards recognizing some of the industry’s most successful home entertainment releases. The independent studios continue to provide consumers with an unparalleled array of outstanding products.”

EMA retailer and distributor members determined the winners.
