Cartwright Promoted to EVP at Anchor Bay

Anchor Bay Entertainment has promoted Julie Cartwright to EVP of worldwide marketing. She has served as SVP of marketing since mid-2009.

“Julie has both an incredible creative prowess and a keen understanding of the home entertainment category with its evolving physical and digital models,” said Anchor Bay president Bill Clark. “Her relationship with retailers and filmmakers makes her an excellent choice to lead the Anchor Bay brand marketing team. She has been a key member of the ABE senior management team, delivering significant positive impact as an executive. We’re fortunate to be partnering with her and have [her] on the team.”

Clark said Cartwright is responsible for Anchor Bay being a leader in the fitness category, along with growth in the family, children’s, TV and special-interest categories.

Cartwright began working with Anchor Bay in 1999, helping to grow the Thomas & Friends DVD brand and went on to launch the TV DVD business for the company.  Currently, she manages the team that oversees all Starz Original Series along with AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” 

In her newly expanded role Cartwright will oversee all marketing for releases from Anchor Bay Films, Starz Original Series, The Weinstein Co., Radius Films and international programming from Anchor Bay’s Canadian, Australian and United Kingdom divisions.

“I’m excited about expanding my role at Anchor Bay,” Cartwright said. “During my years here, I have seen this company evolve and grow and I’ve had the chance to work with some of the most passionate and creative people in the industry. Along with my team, we’ve been allowed a tremendous opportunity which has garnered award-winning releases. I look forward to breaking new ground with Anchor Bay worldwide.”
