Anchor Bay Picks Up ‘The Irishman’

Anchor Bay has picked up the distribution rights to The Irishman, a true-life story of mobster Danny Greene, starring Ray Stevenson, Christopher Walken and Val Kilmer.

Prior to the DVD release, Anchor Bay will release the film theatrically in early 2011 in North America, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

“A distributor could not ask for a better cast than that of The Irishman,” said Bill Clark, president of Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Kevin Kasha, Anchor Bay Films’ SVP of acquisitions, added, “The Irishman features a powerhouse ensemble cast [and] is both historically interesting and captivating.”
