'Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One — Avengers Assembled'

Amazon users who pre-ordered Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One — Avengers Assembled — the 10-disc, limited-edition, six-movie set now delayed to 2013 due to a lawsuit — will be given a free copy of Disney’s blockbuster The Avengers Blu-ray Disc combo set, the retailer announced.

Those who pre-ordered the collection between July 12 and Aug. 28 are eligible for the free Blu-ray, which streets Sept. 25, and still will receive the collection when it’s available in spring 2013.

“We know this delay is disappointing, and we're sorry for any inconvenience this causes,” Amazon wrote in a letter to those who pre-ordered.

The Sept. 25 release of the collection — which includes Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and Marvel's The Avengers — was delayed after a German luggage manufacture sued Disney, alleging the studio didn’t have the rights to use a replica briefcase as packaging, after it was used under license in the feature film.
