‘Battlestar Galactica’ Earns Top TV DVD Honor
Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s complete-series boxed set of the sci-fi series “Battlestar Galactica” has been named TV DVD of the year as part of the sixth annual TV DVD Awards.
DEG Names Best Buy Top National Retailer
Star Trek, The Wizard of Oz, and Battlestar Galactica discs also are recognized with top honors.
Report: ‘Avatar’ Sex Scenes Likely on Blu-ray Disc
Fans of James Cameron's Avatar could soon find out if Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) indeed had sex with alien Net’tiri (Zoe Saldana) on Pandora when the sci-fi epic is released later this year on Blu-ray Disc and DVD by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Disney’s ‘A Christmas Carol’ Slated for 3D on Blu-ray
The Walt Disney Studios Jan. 7 said it would release it first 3D title, the CG-animated A Christmas Carol starring Jim Carrey, on Blu-ray Disc in the fourth quarter.

Walt Disney Studios executives said the studio will roll out KeyChest by year's end, allowing its films — purchased either digitally or on disc with digital copy — the ability to travel across multiple platforms and devices.
Sony, Discovery Channel, Imax Launching First 3D TV Network
With 3D television front-and-center this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Sony Corp., Imax Corp., and Discovery Communications Jan. 5 said they had formed a joint venture aimed at launching the first 24-hour 3D television network.
