For 20th Century Fox’s new DVD and Blu-ray of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Target decided to offer a $5 gift card to shoppers who bought the movie with any copy of one of the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” book series. The books were on sale for $9.76 each with a movie tie-in book at $10.46.
At Walmart Diary of a Wimpy Kid came with a bonus Garfield’s Fun Fest movie that works only on Vudu-enabled devices with an active Vudu account.
Walmart also had a $17 special edition of the faith-based To Save a Life DVD packed with the 96-page book Dare to Make a Difference in Your School and Your Life. The standalone DVD was $15 and Blu-ray was $20.
Walmart also had an assortment of sci-fi hits for between $7 and $9.
Best Buy gave away $5 CinemaNow gift cards with the purchase of Kick-Ass on Blu-ray.
