Invasion of the Minions14 Dec, 2010 By: John Latchem
Not surprisingly, Universal’s animated hit Despicable Me hit stores Dec. 14 with a batch of exclusives based on the cuddly Minion characters from the film.
Target probably had the neatest offer, strapping a pair of Minion goggles onto a limited-edition Blu-ray/DVD/digital copy combo pack and selling it at the same $24.99 price as the regular combo pack.
Walmart packed a 12-inch inflatable Minion into its exclusive version of the combo pack, while Best Buy went with more of a traditional offer by selling a 9-inch giggling Minion plush at $19.99 each, or $12.99 with purchase of the movie.
Best Buy also presented its exclusive movie mode edition to translate the Minion language, with details at BestBuy.com/DespicableMe.
For the new movie adaptation of The A-Team. Target had an exclusive combo pack containing a Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy. The Blu-ray edition available at general retail includes just the digital copy.
