The fact that several 3D Blu-ray versions of movies new to disc were released Nov. 16 should be a positive sign that 3D home video is picking up momentum.
Best Buy dedicated an entire section in its weekly ad circular to 3D home entertainment, highlighted by its exclusive offering of The Last Airbender. Best Buy also offered a Panasonic package of a 3D TV, glasses and Blu-ray player for $1799.
Best Buy also is offering a free Minion plush and exclusive bonus content with preorders of Despicable Me, due on disc Dec. 14.
Target is offering a $5 gift card with the purchase of the new live-action Last Airbender movie on DVD or Blu-ray and any Nickelodeon animated “Avatar: The Last Airbender” DVD two-pack.
Walmart is offering a special two-pack of the new Last Airbender movie on DVD with a DVD containing episodes from the animated series. Walmart also is offering the exclusive “Aang Battles Zuko” at walmart.com/airbender.
Walmart also exclusively is offering the football movie Boys of Fall, featuring Kenny Chesney, at $11.88.
