11 Jan, 2012 By: Chris Tribbey
Tech company Stream TV Networks debuted new glasses-free 3D technology Jan. 10 at the Consumer Electronics Show, with the hopes of partnering with major consumer electronics companies during 2012.
“Although we have had success in delivering well-received consumer electronics products to market, we decided to aggressively pursue a [business-to-business] sales strategy with the Ultra-D technology so that we could speed the global adoption of the technology and format as much as possible,” said Mathu Rajan, CEO of Stream TV Networks. “We believe our team has created a truly disruptive technology that consumers will find indispensable in the evolution of their digital lifestyles and are eager to deliver the best Ultra-D products at the best price points to market, at a rate that exceeds the capacity of any one company alone.”
The proprietary autostereoscopic 3D technology allows for real-time 2D-3D video conversion and automatic conversion of 3D stereoscopic content to autostereoscopic, for Blu-ray Disc, DVD, gaming, Internet and broadcast content.
Stream TV Networks said the technology also allows users to increase or decrease the 3D rendering effect.
The company promised partnership announcements within the next few months.
