RealD Hires New Home Entertainment EVP15 Feb, 2013 By: Chris Tribbey
3D technology company RealD has appointed Minard Hamilton as its EVP of mobile and consumer products, charging the gaming industry veteran with advancing RealD’s consumer electronics business.
From 2007 to 2012, Hamilton served as CEO of Southern California’s Six Degree Games, a publisher of online and mobile games. Before that, Hamilton was EVP of sales and marketing for wireless applications company Jamdat Mobile.
“Minard has a proven track record for creating new revenue streams through technology licensing and innovative partnerships,” said RealD CEO Michael V. Lewis. “I am confident that he has the right combination of passion, industry experience and sales leadership to guide RealD’s future growth opportunities beyond our core cinema business.”
RealD Feb. 6 reported a net loss of $4.2 million for its fiscal third quarter (ended Dec. 31) with the company pointing to an “outsized share of global box office receipts” for non-3D films during the quarter.
