3net to Launch Original TV Series12 Sep, 2011 By: Erik Gruenwedel
3net, the 3D network operated by Sony, Discovery and IMAX, on Sept. 18 will launch an original reality series based on a family that turns animal and human remains into skeletal art.
Called “Skeleton, Inc.,” the one-hour premiere showcases Skulls Unlimited owner Jay Villemarette, who, along with his wife, Kim, and their four kids, runs a business transforming everything from the a human head to 400-pound Barbary lion into trophy art.
The series in gruesome detail depicts processing bodies, including skin, fur and related parts into polished skeletal remains. The result is an unusual work of art in high demand from museums, universities and everyday aficionados from around the world — all keen to add these skeletal masterpieces to their collections.
“We expect 'Skeleton, Inc.' to be a very provocative special — one that stretches the boundaries of 3D television by bringing the exotic business of skeletal creation to life like never before,” said Tom Cosgrove, president and CEO of 3net.
